I’ve just turned 50 and rarely use foundation as they really don’t sit well on mature skin. Until I accidentally found a review of this product.
I’m lucky as I don’t have many wrinkles. I have them on my forehead and around my eyes when I smile.
I’m normally very strict with skincare, but I’ve been unwell for a very long period and in this time my skincare has been non existent. My skin tone is dark and grey, I’ve red patches, dark circles and of course wrinkles.
I was surprised this foundation was for mature skin, I thought with it being a pressed cream it would be heavy and show up every wrinkle. So, I spent quite a good few hours researching and I decided to try it out.
Choosing a shade was extremely easy, I really liked the idea there’s only a handful of shades and it would change on my face to suit me. I’m sure I’m not the only one with numerous foundations that are the wrong shade.
I’ve freckles, slightly tan, usually burn, fair coloured hair. But, with age my skin is darker than it once was. I could decide on which of the first two lightest shades to get, but after looking on Google at photos, I decided to get the 510 Fair.
It arrived quickly and I decided to try it out on the back of my hands. They are dry, wrinkles and look 20yrs older than me. If it worked on my hands, it should on my face.
I didn’t prep my skin on my hand first, I just popped it on. It was a lovely creamy consistency and went on better than expected.
Within 30 mins the back of my hand looked 20years younger than the other. Hydrated, tighter, luminous and nothing settling in any dry patches or wrinkles. The colour was also perfect with excellent coverage. It also stayed put for hours, no settling in lines or rubbing off. It looked fresh until I washed my hands.
On my face…I normally wear a light coverage, but I need more currently and this can give a light, medium or full coverage as it was easily buildable.
Despite needing a medium coverage, I still like to look natural, so I popped it sparingly in the center and blended it out to the sides. I was extremely astounded at how well it covered redness and dark areas with only a small amount. I just went back in on a couple of spots with a little more.
I’d recommend you only do sections at a time as it’s dryish formula or it may dry out before you blend it in. I personally use the Magnitone Blendup electric brush. It’s a new discovery for me, but it gives an airbrushed finish and it’s so easy to use. It made quick work of blending in this foundation. But, a beauty blender would work too.
When I first started blending I thought it was going to be a disaster, but my skin looks beautiful. I can’t feel it on my skin, it’s hidden wrinkles, well lessened them greatly and not on area has caught on a dry patch or settled in any lines. It’s made me look younger!
It’s not a matte finish, but it’s not dewy either. Maybe somewhere inbetween, a satin look perhaps? It’s not even a glow, it’s luminous and my skin has stayed hydrated and looking fresh all day.
I’ve never left a foundation review before, as I dislike everyone I purchase. But, I’m extremely happy and so grateful to have found this miracle! Who knew there was such a phenomenal foundation for mature skin.
I will be investing in their other products, probably the primer next.
Bottom line…if you’ve mature, combination or dry skin, you will love this
